I had been working a long time on a portrait and needed something fun and free to break the tedium of facial details.  Altogether, I spent about 5 hours spread over 2 days to finish Oregon Rain. For a majority of the painting, I played around with my palette knife and a fan brush to soften some edges. I also chose to use a limited color palette to challenge my mixing abilities – Titanium white, Cadmium red deep, Ultramarine blue, & Cadmium yellow.
